Chandigarh, Sep 24 (UNI) Haryana Investment Promotion Board (HIPB) today gave approval to set up International Management School (IMS) and Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) at IMT Rohtak.
A spokesman of the Industries Department said that the Board in a meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda approved in principle the allotment of 75 acres of land to GMR Varalakshmi Foundation for setting up the IMS and 15 acres of land to Union Ministry of Commerce for FDDI.
He said that IMS would be set up on the lines of the Indian School of Business (ISB) at Hyderabad, in collaboration with a US Business School. Discussions in this regard had already been initiated with the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
This business school would provide a global academic environment and the faculty would represent atleast six nationalities.
The FDDI would be set up at Rohtak with an objective to establish the training facility in footwear technology for fulfilling the current and future expansion human resource need of the industry at all levels and to promote footwear and retail manpower management by providing input in the respective areas.
