Gujarat Assembly Monsoon session from tomorrow
Gandhinagar, Sept 24 (UNI) The three-day Monsoon session of the Gujarat Assembly begins here tomorrow.
The government has decided to bring an official resolution during the session, urging the UPA government at the Centre to approve GUJCOC (Gujarat Control of organised Crime) bill.
Official sources said it is likely that government will not table the Justice Nanavati Commission report on Godhra Train massacre and subsequent riots in 2002. Instead, the state cabinet is likely to clear the Nanavati Commission report and send it to the Assembly speaker.
The Ruling BJP is going to present six bills in the session, including bills for formation of Forensic Science University, Cotton seed regulation, Maritime board bill and Land revenue bill.
Meanwhile, the opposition Congress Legislative Party met here today and discussed the issues to be taken up in the house during the session.
Earlier, the opposition Congress had protested the decision to call the Assembly for just three days and had termed it as a mockery of democracy and demanded that the session be at least for 30 days.
