English must be taught with regional language: Rahul
Jalandhar, Sep 24 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today mooted a total revamp of education system, stressing that along with the regional language, english must also be given equal priority to enable the Indian youth for global competition.
"It is a dire need of the hour to train our youth in English language if our educational system were to achieve excellence" Mr Gandhi said.
Noting that the US was earning more than 13 billion dollars through students from India and China alone, Mr Gandhi asked, ''Why can't we strengthen our educational system to such a level that students from abroad opt to study in Indian schools.'' While responding to a query during a public interaction here on the last leg of his three-day Punjab tour to strengthen Youth Congress, Mr Gandhi observed that the world was today fast getting transformed into a global village where English was the main communication link.
