New Delhi, Sept 24 (UNI) The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) today said it has decided to create a Regulatory Information Management System to maintain database of information collected from generating companies, transmission and trading licenses and power exchanges.
The CERC, under Section 10 of the Electricity Act, had urged the generating companies to furnish all technical data details regarding their generating stations to the Electricity Regulatory Commission and the Central Electricity Authority.
The generating company is also required to co-ordinate with the Central Transmission Utility or the State Transmission Utility, as the case may be, for transmission of the electricity generated by it.
So far, 11 generating companies-- NHDC, Coastal Gujarat Power Gen Ltd, DVC, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd, NTPC Ltd, NLC, Torrent Power, Tata Power Trading Ltd, NEEPCO, Essar Power Ltd, and NHPC-- have submitted the technical details, an official release said here.
