Centre has sent 'premeditated' team: Minister
Bangalore, Sep 24 (UNI) The Karnataka Government today charged the Centre with politicising the recent violence and attacks on places of warship in the State by sending Home Ministry(Internal Security) Team with a 'briefing.' Sharply reacting to the opinion expressed by the team led by Mr M L Kumawat, Joint Secretary, Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Kumar alleged ''both the members acted as 'guided missiles' and passed the verdict that the Karantaka Government had failed in handling the attacks.'' Describing the reported statements by the team as 'unbecoming for the post they held,' Mr Kumar said instead of assessing the actual reason for the attacks, the team conclued the ''State Government had failed in dealing with the situation.
''By sending pre-briefed officials, the Centre is trying to hurt the Federal structure of governance.
''The Union Government, instead of lending a helping hand in bringing the situation to normalcy, had tried to vitiate things,'' he claimed.
The Minister charged the UPA Government with trying to destabilise the BJP Government from day one of coming to power for the first time in the South.
The Opposition parties in the State, including the Congress, were also making continued efforts to destabilise the duly-elected government.
