Bank employees go on strike i C'garh
Raipur, Sep 24 (UNI) Banking services remained paralysed in Chhattisgarh with public sector bank employees going on a two-day strike from today on a call given by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).
Several bank employees gathered outside the main branch of the State Bank of India in the state capital and shouted slogans against the United Progressive Alliance Government.
A rally would be taken out during afternoon.
SBI Workmen Union (Bhopal Circle) General Secretary Ramendra Hor told UNI here that the strike was successful.
The main demands include stopping privatisation and merger of public sector banks, more pension option and compassionate appointments, he added.
