12 MT plant in J'khand besides steel processing unit in Dumka:Paswan
Ranchi, Sep 24 (UNI) Union Steel Minister Ramvilas Paswan today said the government would establish a steel plant of 12-mt capacity besides setting up a steel processing unit in Dumka in Jharkhjand.
Mr Paswan said that he had requested the state government to provide land for both the projects.
Mr Paswan, who also had a meeting with Chief Minister Shibu Soren, told reporters that it was upto the state government to provide land as soon as possible to start the projects.
He said efforts were on to expedite the expansion programme of the Bokaro Steel Plant.
Refering to Asia's richest iron ore reserves, Chiria mines in the state, Mr Paswan said that it was an integral part of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and state government had assured to provide comapny's share.
"Mr Soren had assured to sort out the Chiria mine issue in a month", Mr Paswan said.
Chief Minister Shibu Soren said the government would definitely fulfil SAIL's demand.
Earlier, SAIL owned Chiria mines but later on the matter was litigated following intervetion of private companies, Mr Soren said adding that the government would ensure that everyone was satisfied.
