Teenaged girl killed, another injured in road accident

Nashik, Sep 23 (UNI) A teenaged girl was killed and another injured after a truck hit them from behind in Tilaknagar area of Ojhar town in the district today.

According to sources, a college-going girl was killed and her friend injured when a truck rammed the two after they alighted from a bus at Tilaknagar bus stop on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway No 3 this morning. Their identities are yet to be ascertained.

Angry over the accident, the people of the area came onto the streets and damaged the truck. They also tried to set it on fire, but police intervened and prevented them from doing so. The irate protestors then held a 'rasta roko' agitation on the highway, disrupting the vehicular traffic for nearly an hour. The situation is under control now, sources added.
