It's duty of every citizen to combat terrorism: President

{image-prathibha patil_23092008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Lucknow, Sep 23: President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Tuesday, Sep 23 said terrorism and communal hatred are the enemies of development, stability and a peaceful society and called upon the misguided youths to join the mainstream of society.

''We have to divest hatred from the minds of some of our misguided youth and bring them to the path of peace, amity and communal harmony'', she said while delivering the convocation address at the Lucknow University. Expressing concern over the growing incidents of terrorism in the country, She expected support from all the sections to counter it. ''It was the duty of every citizen of the country to cooperate in combating terrorism,'' she said.

The President also paid tributes to inspector Mohan Chand Sharma of the Delhi Police for his supreme sacrifice during an encounter with terrorists in New Delhi on September 13. She also praised all the security and police personnel, who are engaged in fighting terrorism.
