NPCC demands apology from state BJP unit
Kohima, Sep 23 (UNI) The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today asked the state unit of the BJP to apologise for the ''wrong actions of their activists against Christians in Orissa and Karnataka.'' A release issued by NPCC vice-president Zachilhu Vadeo here this morning said, ''It is surprising to note the failure of the BJP's Nagaland unit to prevail upon their national leaders to pressurise and take stock of the situation in Orissa and Karnataka.
''The BJP has only been shedding crocodile tears, which clearly indicates that they are partners of 'Hindutva' and continue to commit atrocities against Christians throughout the country,'' the release added.
He also expressed surprise that the BJP government in Karnataka was not taking measures to control the situation.
The NPCC also reiterated that since the DAN government in Nagaland consisted of NPF, BJP and other partners which are alliance partners of the NDA, it should immediately take up the issue with NDA and BJP in particular to immediately stop such kind of communal activities in a secular country.
The NPCC also called upon every right thinking citizen and organisations to condemn such crimes perpetrated against Christians by the saffron brigade.
