Mysore, Sep 23 (UNI) Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and district incharge Minister Shobha Karandlaje today released a website on Dasara festivities here.
The website, www.mysoredasara.com 2008, included various informations including the places where the programmes being held besides the history of the Mysre royal family Wadiyars.
The website would be updated daily with additional information on the festivities.
Speaking to newsmen she said for the first time the government has included a rural dasara in the Mysore district for seven-day beginning from October 1.
Various dasara programmes will be held at H D Kote, Mysore rural, K R Nagara, Periyapatna, Hunsur, T.Narasipura and Nanjangud, she said.
On the occasion of rural dasara there will be sports activities for the particular areas people for both men and women besides cultural activities during these days, she said.
She said that the government has also introduced a programme for people who are unable to witness the dasara festivities from rural areas including, senior citizens, women and economically backward persons.
The district administration had arranged as many as 30 bus services from various destinations from all over the district and every day people would be brought to the city and went around the various places in the around the city and return them back in the night.
This programme will be held for three days from October 5 and expected to brought 6000 persons every days, she added.
