Maoist division members held
Visakhapatnam, Sep 23 (UNI) District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Akun Sabharwal today congratulated the Paderu police for arresting banned CPI (Maoists) Division members, who had participated in the attack on gold merchant M C Reddy, in the distrct.
Talking to mediapersons here, he said the Maoists had conducted a series of meeting, under the leadership of Madhav alias J N M Sridar, in the district to eliminate the gold merchant, a few weeks ago.
CPI(Maoist) Ninth Company platoon commander P Ramulamma alias Geetha in connection with the attack surrendered before the police, he said, adding the other two arrested were Ch China Rao alias Sudheer and P Bhaskar Rao (25).
Geetha, wife of Company Commander Ranadev, who was killed in an exchange of fire, hailed from G K Veedhi Mandalam, he said.
She joined the organisation in 2001 and was involved in four exchages of fire and murders of surrendered cadres, he said.
