Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 23 (UNI) Maldivian, the national airline of Maldives, has entered into a tie-up with the Technopark-based IBS Group to implement its new-generation Passenger Service System.

The 'aiRES' solution would help the airline to manage its passenger reservations, inventory control, fares and ticketing and departure control functions, an IBS release said here today.

The IBS Group is a leading provider of new-generation IT solutions to the global travel, transportation and lLogistics industry.

The release said Maldivian had chosen IBS solution for its cost-effectiveness, optimum fit, short implementation time and flexible features, including Web distribution, GDS, and credit card payment gateways.

Maldivian operates scheduled flights, both to domestic destinations as well as to the regional destination, including Thiruvananthapuram in India, and was looking to add more destinations such as Colombo to boost tourism to the island nation.

The SaaS (hosted) version of the new-generation system allows Maldivian to utilise the complete functionality of the system to improve customer experience, in a very cost-effective manner to pay on transaction basis.

Mr Ahmed Zuhair, Director Commercial, Maldivian, said the company was making every step in all directions to expand and enhance operations within the domestic and regional sectors.

Mr V K Mathews, Chairman and CEO of IBS Group, said airlines all over the world were moving away from the current legacy systems and opting for new-generation technology to help remain competitive in dynamically evolving markets.
