Hyundai Const to make India global export hub; to expand dealers
New Delhi, Sept 23 (UNI) Hyundai Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd (HCEIL) today said it plans to make India a global export hub for its machines, besides expanding its indigenous dealership network to 21 by this fiscal-end.
''After consolidating our position, we will like to make India our export hub for construction equipment as it will also help us to reduce cost,'' company Director (Sales and Marketing) Ki Young Kong told reporters here.
The domestic excavator market is estimated to be around 13,000 units in 2008, he added.
The company is looking for emerging markets of SAAF, West Asia and Africa with demands rising in power, irrigation and real estate sectors, Mr Kong said.
''We plan to increase the number of dealers to 21 from existing 17 by the end of this year,'' company Head (Marketing) Suvendu Moitra said during the inauguration of the its fourth regional office in the capital.
The wholly-owned arm of Korean firm Hyundai Heavy Industries, which caters to the other regions through its other regional centers located in Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata, is seeking appropiate dealers for UP and Uttrakhand.
It has set up its new manufacturing unit in Pune built up at a cost of Rs 300 crore with a production capacity of 2,500 excavators per annum.
The production will further be scaled up to 10,000 units for catering to domestic and foreign needs.
