Greater Noida, Sep 23: On Tuesday, the Greater Noida police filed chargesheet against 13 persons, under section 302, in connection with the murder of Lalit Kishore Chaudhary, the CEO of 'Graziano', an Italian auto parts company. The police has also filed case against more than 136 persons. All have been reportedly arrested.
L K Chaudhary was killed on Monday, Sep 22 during the clashes that broke out between employees and the management over the expulsion of some employees. Atleast 25 others were also injured in the stone pelting that followed between the two groups. The incident occured when a group of Graziano workers gathered at the company office in Greater Noida demanding to know the reasons behind the expulsion of about 10 workers a few days back. Slowly, their numbers began to swell and they started getting aggressive. The situation took a violent turn when a security guard fired in the air to disperse the mob. This further angered the workers and resulted in stone pelting from both sides. Chaudhary, suffered a fatal head injury after being hit in the head.
The Company management said that it had expelled workers on account of their underperformance. The terminated workers included both permanent and temporary employees. While the former were given notice, the latter were not even informed in advance.
The discussion held earlier between the management and the workers failed as the clarification given by the company for sacking employees were not convinving to them. Sources suspect an outsider"s hand in the incident as some local politicians tried to gain mileage by taking up the workers" case.
