Central team on fact finding about attacks on Churches arrives
Mangalore, Sep 23(UNI) A high level team of the Union Home Ministry sent by the Centre today arrived here to take stock of the situation following recent attack on the churches and prayer halls in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.
The team headed by Union Internal Security Special Secretary Mahendra Kumwat along with Human Rights Department Joint Secretary A K Madhavan visited Milagris Church where the police allegedly entered the prayer hall and beat up in the Nuns and others residing in the Church on Monday 15, the next day after attack.
The team is visiting Churches at Kulasekhar and Kodakal churches where also the police have allegedly committed atrocities.
Mr Kumwat, declining to give any details about the visit, said that after Mangalore the team would also visit Udupi and submit its report to the Union Home Ministry soon after returning to Delhi.
