Vindhyachal Navratra Mela from Sep 30, security stepped-up
Mirzapur, Sep 22 (UNI) Security was being increased for the impending Vindhyachal Navratra Mela due to the recent terror strikes in the country.
As many as 20 lakh devotees were expected to congregate in the Mela that would commence from September 30.
However, this time the worshippers would be allowed to enter the Mela premises only after checking.
Paramilitary forces along with civil police force would be garrisoned on the Mela compound for better security.
Supplying information about the ongoing arrangements, district police chief Preetinder Singh said policemen have been called in from various districts and a vehicle checking drive would also be initiated five days prior to the commencement of the Navratra mela.
Besides, security would be checked through metal detectors, Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and barricading, he informed.
