Navi Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) Small and medium grade sugar prices eased further today on lack of fresh demand by stockists, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association (BSMA) said.
Prices of small and medium grade sugar were down by Rs 2 and Rs 6 per quintal respectively, on lower buying support from bulk consumers, traders said.
However in ex-mill grade, small and medium grade sugar remained steady and closed at Rs 1700/1725 and Rs 1735/1755 per quintal respectively, on scattered buying by stockists, traders added.
Following were the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,726/1,770, medium grade: Rs 1,760/1,845, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,700/1,725 and medium grade: Rs 1,735/1,755.
