RIMS observes Cancer Rose Day
Imphal, Sep 22 (UNI) The Regional Cancer Centre, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, today observed the World Cancer Rose Day to spread awareness among the people about the disease and to care for the terminally ill cancer patients.
Prof L Fimate, Director, RIMS, and other professors and high officials of the Institute visited the cancer wards in the Cancer Centre to distribute flowers and sweets.
About 12 units of blood were also distributed free of charge to the patients by the Director and others.
The Institute has been observing the National Cancer Rose Day every year since 2004.
Voluntary organisations and other volunteers also donated blood to the Blood Bank, RIMS.
The RIMS looks after patients from all parts of the NE region.
New machines have also been delivered to this centre for cancer treatment.
