Prohibitory order clamped in Chandra layout following tension
Bangalore, Sep 22 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 CRPC were clamped on Chandra layout of the city today, following a group clash during Ganesha immersion procession last night.
Police said during the procession some anti-social elements pelted stones, leading to a clash between the two groups. Both attacked each other and indulged in stone pelting.
In all, 35 people were taken into custody in connection with the violence, in which ten police personnel were injured.
Since the processionists ran away following the stone pelting, police immersed the idol.
The prohibitory orders would be in force for three days as a precautionary measure. Additional forces were rushed and patrolling was strengthened to maintain law and order.
