Lucknow, Sep 22 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil is expected to meet Rasulan Bibi, widow of Param Vir Chakra winner Havildar Major Abdul Hamid, who laid down his life for the country in the 1965 war against Pakistan.
Rasulan Bibi will be among the other delegation which are expected to meet the President during her stay at Rajbhawan here tomorrow.
Lucknow district authorities were finalising the list of the delegation to meet the President, which will be sent to the President secretariat for approval.
However, Rajbhawan sources contradicted a media report here stating that Ms Patil have no plan to meet the widow and said the President was eager to meet the 95-year-old.
Rasulan Bibi, along with her two grandsons, is camping in the state capital to meet the President with a set of demands--to set up a hospital in her Dulahapur village in Gazipur district, renaming the Dulahapur railway station on Abdul Hamid and job for her 10 grandsons.
Recently, one of her grandsons, out of the 11, was provided job by railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
The President will arrive here tomorrow morning from New Delhi and will directly go to Lucknow University on a helicopter to attend the convocation function.
She will stay at the Rajbhawan rest of the evening and would meet some delegations. Mrs Patil would have a night halt in Lucknow and will leave for Kanpur on Wednesday morning to attend a function.
