Bangalore, Sep 22: Encouraged over the response to Karnataka Government's offer for the Nano car project, Industry minister Murugesh Nirani on Monday, Sep 22 said he has sought a meeting with Mr Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Motors, to hold further discussions.

Talking to newspersons here he said the Tatas had been offered 1,000 acres of land near Dharwad in Northern part of the state and all facilities needed, if it preferred to shift its plant from trouble hit Singur in West Bengal.

Mr Nirani said the proposed land was shown to top executives of Tata Motors who visited the state last week.

''They have shown keen interest in the offer made by the our government and have agreed to come back for a second round of discussions,'' he said.

The company has already three units at Dharwad on a 700 acre plot, he said.

The second visit will be followed by the final round of talks with the company's Chairman Ratan Tata, he said.

''We want to be part of this ambitious and nationally important project. If low cost cars are made in Karnataka it can provide great growth prospects for our state,'' he said.
