Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, Sep 22 (UNI) A case of human trafficking came to light in the naxal-affected Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh when a young tribal woman was reportedly sold for Rs 63,000 to a resident of Haryana's Hisar district, police said.

Kukanar village-resident woman had a love affair with Sujan Kumar, resident of Malkangiri in Orissa. Sujan used to visit her house frequently and expressed his desire to marry her in front of her father Ishwar, who expressed his inability to arrange the marriage due to extreme poverty.

Sujan, however, took the woman to Malkangiri on the pretext of marrying her with his own money. Later, he along with his friend Ravindra Biswas took the woman to Hisar district, where she was sold to local resident Rampal Singh on September 17.

However the victim managed to inform about the deception to a teacher of her native village through phone.

Kukanar Station House Officer B L Tirki said that a case had been registered against two people in this regard.

A police team has been sent to Haryana to bring the victim back, he added.
