Lucknow, Sep 22 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati announced financial help of Rs five lakh for Rasulan Bibi, widow of Param Vir Chakra winner Havildar Major Abdul Hamid, who had laid down his life for the country in the 1965 war against Pakistan.
On the directions of the UP CM, Principale Secretary Vijay Shankar Pandey and Lucknow District Magistrate Chandrabhanu today met Rasulan Bbibi here.
Mr Pandey called the martyr's wife at his office and told her that the CM had released Rs 5 lakh for the repair and rennovation of her Ghazipur residence.
Besides, Mr Pandey also directed the Divisional Commissioner (Varanasi) to help her in getting an eye operation for which payment would be made from the Chief Minister's Vivekadhin fund.
He also directed the district administration, Ghazipur to give medical treatment to Rasulan Bibi for free and a medico should visit her atleast once in a month.
The Ghazipur administration had also accepted a sum of Rs 10 lakh for the construction of a park in the name of the martyr.
