Bomb scare on Jaipur-bound train proves hoax
Panaji, Sep 22 (UNI) A bomb scare on a Jaipur-bound train proved to be a hoax today after the express, originating from Ernakulam in Kerala, was detained and searched by the Goa police at the Margao station.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kishan Kumar said they had received a tip-off that a bomb was planted on a long-distance train, originating from Ernakulam in Kerala, bound for Jaipur via Goa. The authorities detained the train at the Margoa station and a search operation was conducted by sniffer dog and bomb disposal squads. But it did not yield anything.
He said the state police had intensified vigil at all the railway stations after the Delhi Police alerted them that Goa was on the hit list of terror groups.
Mr Kumar said they would keep checking all the trains for at least a week.
