Badal urges Centre to call CMs meet to tackle terrorism

Ferozepur, Sep 22 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today urged the Centre to call a meeting of the Chief Ministers of all the states to take their suggestions to eliminate terrorism unitedly.

Expressing his concern over the ever increasing incidence of terrorism in the country, Mr Badal also apealed to all political parties to join hands in the war against terrorism.

The Chief Minister was addressing media persons after laying the foundation stone of primary health centre in Khubaya village in this district here.

Replying to a question, the Chief Minister said a special scheme has been set up under which police force would be equipped with the modern and sensitive arms and new recruitment would be made in the force to streamline day-to-day functioning of the force.

While addressing a public meeting later, Mr Badal said his government has initiated various new mega projects to address the problems of water and electricity in the state.

The government has cleared a project of Rs 3243 crores, under which Remodelling of canals, sub-canals and water courses would be done which would enable the farmers to get more than 30 per cent surplus water for their irrigation related needs, he added.
