Nuclear power essential for the country: AP CM
Kurnool, Sep 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the nuclear power was essential for the country to meet the future energy needs and also for the industrial growth.
Inaugurating the newly-constructed Sesha Reddy Memorial College for girls at Bethamcherla village in the district, he said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had taken a bold decision on the Indo-US Nuclear Deal in the interest of the country.
Unemployed youth in the country would get employment through the industries, he added.
Dr Reddy said the State Government would provide drinking water connections in every grampanchayat in the state.
The Government had taken up several welfare measures for the benefit of the poor, he said and added it had also taken steps to develop the villages and create necessary infrastructure, including roads, drinking water, electricity and drainage systems.
