Life limping back to normal in flood-hit areas of Gujarat
Ahmedabad, Sep 21 (UNI) Life in flood-hit areas of Gujarat is limping back to normal with the rain fury receding and water draining away in canals.
Army deployed in Surendranagar district, has now moved out of it after completing its task. All the villages have been cleared off the flood waters, according to the district administration.
Administrations in worst-hit Lakhtar, Patdi and Limdi talukas of Surendranagar and Dhandhuka talukas of Ahmedabad district are now trying to avert any chances of epidemics. It has deployed medical teams to prevent epidemics.
District administrations of Surendranagar and Ahmedabad districts will now undertake surveys of damage done by the floods. Many industrial units and other business establishments remained closed for more than three days.
Meanwhile, with two more dead bodies found from Ravalia Vadar village of Dhangadhra taluka yesterday, the toll in the floods related deaths has climbed to 17. Deceased have been identified as Adil Kaji (13) and Habib Kaji (15) of a nearby village.
