New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today said the Intelligence Bureau (IB) should provide ''correct and specific'' information about terror attacks to the law enforcement agencies so that timely and effective action could be taken.
Terming many reports of IB vague, such as 'terrorists may strike in a city or a State', he asked the Bureau to be specific about the names and places like in the case of Jamia Nagar encounter in the capital.
''We need to ensure that incidents such as the Delhi blasts do not recur,'' Mr Prasad told Star News channel in its programme, 'Jo Kahoonga Sach Kahoonga'.
Pointing out that terrorists activities in the country had increased after the Babri Masid demolition, he said the role of local elements in terror attacks should be probed thoroughly.
''After such incidents people usually blame Pakistan, but there is a need to look within the country,'' he said.
Referring to the attacks on minorities in Karnataka and Orissa, perpetuated by the Bajrang Dal, he said the outfit was getting moral support from the governments ruling the two States, and described it as more dangerous than the terrorists.
On the BJP's demand for hanging Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, he said: ''Afzal ke guru ke guru ko to BJP walon ne chord diya(The BJP released Afzal's guru).'' The BJP, he said, was raising the issue only to get political mileage in the run-up to the Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections.
On the Bihar floods, he said it was criminal negligence on the part of the Nitish Kumar Government that led to the breach in Kusaha Dam.
