Udupi, Sep 21 (UNI) Former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today challenged Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to come in public with any information he had on the role of opposition parties in the attacks on Christian prayer halls and churches in several districts in the state.
Addressing a press conference here he pointed that the Chief Minister was making false allegation that there was a conspiracy by the oppositions in the attacks on churches to destabilise the government.
Mr Yeddyurappa instead of keeping his home (state) clean by containing such still ongoing attacks on churches and maintain law and order in the state, he was also warning the Centre of his government's retaliation to the warnings.
The chief minister should restrain himself from treating the opposition lightly, he said.
He charged that despite the warning the district administrations and the district police to provide police protection to the churches in the state and they would be held responsible for any further attacks, today there were attacks on some churches in Bangalore.
All assurances given to the people and the centre on taking steps against attack were remained as mere assurances, he said.
There was an urgent need for change in the attitudes of the people from all sections of the society in the district to prevent all such communal conflicts so that it becomes an investment friendly district, he said.
