Govt medical college to be equipped according to MCI
Patiala, Sep 21 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that all three medical colleges will be equipped according to the guidelines of medical council of India and there will be no threat of de-recognition of these colleges.
Talking to media persons at Punjabi University here, he said that he had asked the deputy chairman of planning board Dr. J S Bajaj,to make the full draft of the shortage of staff and other facilities to be needed to fulfil the MCI guidelines.
He was replying a query regarding the shortage of staff and other facilities in government colleges and the threat looming large of de-recognition of these colleges from MCI.
The Ayurvedic colleges have already derecognize by MCI for want of staff and facilities.
The CM also called upon all the Vice Chancellors of the Universities and Principals of the colleges in the state to reserve at least 10 per cent of seats exclusively for the economically poor and bright students with rural background to enable them to compete globally. He said that he had already impressed upon the Management of the private Medical colleges to devise ways and means to implement the similar decision in their colleges too.
Earlier, addressing a seminar on the book 'Gurmat Sabhayachar' authored by renowned Sikh scholar and former President SGPC Prof.
Kirpal Singh Badungar, Mr. Badal said that the basic concept of Sikhism was to ensure equality in the society by removing the existing disparity between the rich and poor.
