Guna, MP, Sep 21 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Sumer Singh Gadha today made it clear that he would not contest on BJP ticket from Raghogadh assembly segment.
A former State Public Service Commission member, Mr Gadha told UNI over telephone that he was a Congress soldier and would continue to work for the party. He would follow whatever instructions he receives from the party with the viewpoint of polls.
He denied media reports that he would contest on BJP ticket during next assembly polls.
Referring to his close relations with Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh's brother and BJP MP Lakshman Singh, Mr Gadha said Mr Digvijay Singh was more important for him.
Mr Digvijay Singh represents the Raghogadh assembly segment at present. He had decided not to contest assembly polls this time.
It is expected that his choice would be made party candidate from here.
On the other hand, the BJP is searching for a strong candidate with the objective of wresting the seat from the Congress.
