Jaipur, Sep 21 (UNI) In another populist step ahead of next Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has announced free school education for all students up to class XII, in government schools in the state with effect from October 1.
Addressing a public meeting after launching of the Centralised kitchen for preparing mid-day meal for school children in Gobindgarh near here last evening, Ms Raje also announced the issuance of free passes in Rajasthan State Roadways buses to girl students.
Presently, only girl students up to class XII, were getting free education facility in government schools in the state Besides, free supply of books to all students in government schools was also available in the state for the past some time.
With this, Rajasthan has become the first state in the country, to provide free schooling and books to the students.
