Bridal Asia 2008-- bridal wear under one roof
New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) It was an exquisite interpretation of the look of the bride this season as top designers showcased their works in a sneek preview of Bridal Asia 2008.
Models displayed the creations of Gaurav Gupta, Niki Mahajan and Rina Shah in varieties ranging from 'lehngas' and ensembles to shoes and bags as a foretaste of the event to be held on October 7-9.
It will be Bridal Asia's tenth year, bringing leading couturiers, wedding planners, lifestyle designers and jewelery design houses on the same platform.
''With a right mix of beauty, style, attitude, essence and value for money, we believe in providing a complete solution for trousseau and festive shopping under one roof,'' said Bridal Asia's Divya Gurwara.
Gaurav said brides and the whole world around a wedding needed a forward push, and fast.
''Sarees that can be flattering as chic evening dresses and lehngas that are reminiscent of European old world grand couture are some designs that will change style for a very long while to come,'' he added.
Niki, involved with fashion for the past 25 years, will be showcasing intricately hand-embroidered works with delicate sequins and stonework-- an amalgamation of modern day techniques and traditional sensibilities.
Rina, one of India's foremost designers for shoes and bags, said her collection for Bridal Asia would a range boasting of gladiator sandals, peep-toes, ballerinas, wedge heels, pretty chappals and even formal slip-on's with semi-precious stones under her designer label 'Rinaldi'.
