Kolkata, Sep 21 (UNI) Bollywood heartthrob Amrita Rao and Pakistani music band ''Jal'' today performed together for a musical for the first time in the city.
The programme was organised by Hindustan Unilever-owned Kwality Walls as a part of its ''Cornetto - Love Sparks Across the Border'' campaign with their brand ambassadors Amrita and Jal band duo Gauhar Mumtaz and Farhan.
Amrita and the Jal duo rocked the floor as they reached the stage matching their steps at an exclusive performence.
Speaking on the occasion, Farhan said, ''Earlier we have featured in a music video together in the song titled 'Chalte Chalte' which was mindblowing and we wish to continue the trend in future endeavours.'' Addressing the audience, Amrita Rao said, ''I am glad to be a part of this opportunity to interact with my fans in Kolkata.
''For me the song and music are like a journey down the memory lane which brings back my college days,'' she said, adding that it had been a delight working with Jal as the members were gifted musicians with an outstanding ability to connect with the youngsters across the border.
Gauhar also quipped that it was ''really nice'' to work with a Bollywood actor.
''We love to come to India for peace and harmony hoping that such alliances across the border will help spark love between the people of two countries irrespective of differences,'' he added.
When asked if they would like to perform with some Bangla band in Kolkata, they said the band had performed for the maximium number of times in the City of Joy, adding, ''We are eager to see the reaction of our fans to our liaison with some Bangla band if get a decent offer.'' Also speaking on the occasion, Kedar Lee, Marketing Manager, Kwality Walls, said, ''Cornetto bears the flag of getting young hearts and minds together for peaceful co-existence as it will help strengthen our across the border campaign.''
