Woman commits suicide over dowry harrassment, husband nabbed
Hoshiarpur, Sep 20 (UNI) A newly-wedded young woman was allegedly driven to commit suicide by continuous harrassment by her in-laws demanding more dowry.
Garhshankar police has registered a case under sections 304 B and 34 of the IPC in this connection and has arrested deceased's husband Jasbir Kumar of village Mehandwani and was looking for his father Jagat Ram and mother Giano.
According to the police sources, Rampal of village Tehtera, district Una (HP) had made the complaint that his sister Sushma Rani, who was married with Jasbir Kumar about 3 months ago, was being tortured by her in-laws who wanted her to get more money from her parents to send Jasbir Singh to a foreign country.
When the parents conveyed their inability to provide the money, the in-laws family intensified the torture on her which forced Sushma Rani to hang herself from the ceiling fan of the room, Rampal alleged.
