Signals, PSB, CRPF and Eastern Railway win matches
Faridkot, Sep 20 (UNI) In the four matches played today on the second day of the 17th All India Baba Farid Gold Cup Hockey Tournament here, Corps of Signals Delhi, Punjab and Sind Banks academy Jalandhar, CRPF New Delhi and Eastern Railways, Calcutta emerged victorious.
While Corps of signals Delhi, outplayed Jammu and Kashmir Police by 6-0 goal, Punjab and Sind Banks academy Jalandhar defeated CHARKHAD Hockey club Ludhiana by 2-1 goals in a well contested match, CRPF New Delhi defeated Ropar hawks by 1-0 and Eastern Railways, Calcutta beat India Air Force, New Delhi 5-3.
Meanwhile,a 23 -member Pakistan Hockey Team arrived here this evening to participate in the tournament.
A warm reception was accorded to the team, consisting of 18 players lead by Amman Ullah Khan and accompanied by 5 officials and coaches.
The team immediately went to Gurdwara Tilla Baba Farid to pay their obesiance.
The Pakistan team will play its first match tomorrow against Eastern Railways Calcutta.
