Mysore, Sep 20: Noted vocalists including K J Yesudas and Anuradha Paudwal would perform at the palace premises during the Mysore Dasara festivities commencing here from September 30, Addressing the media persons Karnataka Rural Development and district incharge minister Shobha Karandlaje said a total of 131 cultural programmes would be held at six places featuring state, national and international artists.
Traditionally, Dasara music programme was confined to either carnatic or hindustrani genre of music. But authorities have departed from convention in the recent past and included the light classical and semi classical format.
This has not only given the organisers enough scope to tap national talent but has given the people of my sore an opportunity to regale themselves of live performances of popular singers, she added.
The Minister also released the gold card, a ticket which offers entry to various places and privileges to the holder during the festivities. It would be made available in Bangalore and the city at select tourism offices, she added.
Referring to the security during the festivities she said an elaborate arrangements have been made and if required additional forces would be deployed from other parts of the country. CCTVs have installed at various vintage points around the city.
The minister also released 300 platinum cards meant for VVIPs who visit Mysore to witness Dasara festivities.
