Karnataka govt launches E-Women
Hubli, Karnataka, Sep 19 (UNI) The State Government today launched E-Women facility to provide information about the world at the door step.
The first E-Women centre was opened at Yarguppi village of Kundgol Taluk in Dharwad district by Minister for Women and Child Development P Narendra.
He said the project was directed towards reducing the gap between cities and villages. It will also begin a new era in information sector thus paving the way for rural development.
The Vision 2020, enunciated by former President A P J Abdul Kalam, had been the inspiration to launch the programme.
Rural women will be exposed to new technology and consistent training will be provided to them, he added.
