CPI(M) urges UPA to put Sangh Parivar under 'watch list'
Madurai, Sep 20 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) today urged the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre to put the Sangh Parivar organisations under a 'watch list' to check communal violence in the country.
Inaugurating the 30th General Conference of South Zone Insurance Employees Federation here, Senior CPM leader and Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat alleged that RSS-led Bajrang Dal was involved in the recent attacks on the minority community.
Accusing the UPA government of failing to discuss the matter of terrorism and its counter mechanism in Parliament, she said an effective coordination between the Centre and States would enable it.
On the spiralling price of essential commodities, she said the CPM was demanding the Centre impose a ban on futures trading in the agriculture sector.
On the Indo-US nuclear deal, she alleged that it was not in national interest and it would not give energy at reasonable price.
