CPI demands ban on Bajrang Dal
Mangalore, Sept 20 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) in Karnataka today demanded the centre to ban Bajrang Dal, which was behind the spate of attacks on places of worship belonging to minority community in different districts of Karnataka.
State Secretariat member M G N Nagaraj today said the rightist organisation should immediately branded as a terrorist organisation.
Addressing the press conference after visiting some of the Churches and prayer halls in the city he said that the centre should not keep quite and 'punish' the BJP-government in Karnataka for its failure to book the militant Bajrang Dal.
It should also ensure protection to Christians in the state by directly monitoring the situation in the state, he demanded.
He also demanded action on police officers who failed to act when the city witnessed violence in the aftermath of attacks.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa should immediately sack Home Minister V S Acharya. He should also ensure that the next Home minister was not be from the RSS back ground, he said.
CPI would organise a protest rally on September 25 in the city, he added.
