Itanagar, Sep 20 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor (Retd) Gen J J Singh has emphasised the need for evolving a ''resource based timebound action plan'' in a bid to convert the recommendations task forces formed by the Planning Commission and NER ''Vision 2020'' formulated by the Ministry of DoNER.
The commission had set up task forces on connectivity and promotion of trade and investment in northeastern region(NER) and border area development.
While addressing a two-day conference of governors at Delhi recently, the governor commended the institutional arrangements made by the Prime Minister's Office(PMO) and the Arunachal Pradesh government to ensure synergic approach for the implementation of projects under the Prime Minister's Package, according to Rajbhawan sources here today.
The meeting was convened by the President and it was attended by the Prime Minister, Vice-President, senior Union Ministers and the Governors of all the States of India.
In the context of border area management, Mr Singh also advocated for a strong vigil on border area development, telecommunication, Look East policy and income generating projects, sources said.
