Visakhapatnam, Sep 19: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Friday, Sep 19 rescued six fishermen from a missing boat and handed them over to state fisheries deaprtment here.
According to an ICG release here, ICG was informed by the State Fisheries Department that a fishing boat with a six member crew on board went for fishing on September 14.
The fishing boat had reportedly developed a technical sang and drifted in the deep sea off Gangavaram, 20 nautical miles from Visakhapatnam port.
On receiving the information, a search operation led by Assistant Commandent G Srinivas, was launched by the ICG helicopter 'CG 814.' Later, they were handed over to State Fisheries Joint Director Y Basha, the release added.
