Jaipur, Sep 19 (UNI) Puducherry Lt Governor Govind Singh Gurjar has expressed his desire to forge collaboration between Puducherry and Rajasthan governments for evolving special tourist circuit to boost tourism bilaterally.
Talking to reporters here last evening, Mr Gurjar said Rajasthan's palaces, renowned historic and heritage locations were favourite destination for tourists, while Puducherry had been gaining popularity for spiritual tourism, its French culture and architecture based heritage.
He said it had been observed that those foreign tourists, particularly French, who visit Rajasthan for its historic locations also visit Puducherry.
''Both Puducherry and Rajasthan governments can work jointly to evolve a special tourist circuit to attract tourists from each other's side,'' Mr Gurjar said.
Puducherry government would make a formal initiative in this regard with Rajasthan government soon, the Lt Governor added.
He expressed satisfaction over the growth in tourism sector in Puducherry during recent years and said tourist turnout had been increasing and tourism industry related infra structure had been coming up.
Mr Gurjar arrived here yesterday on a four-day Rajasthan visit.
This is Mr Gurjar's maiden tour to his home state, after assuming gubernatorial office in Puducherry.
