Lahore, Sep 19 (UNI) Amid security fears which are responsible for the cancellation of one tournament after the other, the PCB is deperately waiting for a consent from their West Indies counterpart, who are scheduled to tour the strife-torn country to play two Tests this November.

To find out if the West Indies team agrees to tour the troubled nation, the Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) has to wait until the end of this month.

It has been known that an invitation has been sent to the West Indies Cricket Board by the PCB to send their team for two Test matches, to be played in Pakistan, immediately after the two countries play an One-day series in Abu Dhabi on November 12, 14 and 16.

''The Board was still waiting for a response from their West Indian counterparts,'' a senior PCB official said.

''As far as we know the chief executive of the West Indies board is out of office until next week and we are not expecting a final answer until the end of this month. But we are keeping our fingers crossed they will accept our invitation,'' he affirmed.

However, the West Indies Board has said it would give their consent and green signal to the Pakistan proposal only after they are through talking to its players association.

On the PCB's part, it was working on another plan to arrange a series with New Zealand but since all teams are pre-committed to the ICC Future Tours Program, the Board realised it was not easy to arrange the series at a short notice.

''But we are giving it our best shot because after the postponement of the Australia's Test tour and the Champions Trophy our players are desperate to play some international cricket,'' stated the PCB official.
