Patna, Sept 19(UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today directed all district police superintendents to develop police stations as model ones station in their respective jurisdictions.
Addressing a function organised at Nathnagar in Bhagalpur, Mr Kumar said the attitude of police personnel towards commonman reflected the image of the state and attempts should be made to ensure that the public-police relation be cordial.
'' The responsibility of the state police is to check the crimes while taking care for the protection of human rights,'' Mr Kumar said and added that police personnel should not lose the balance while dealing with criminal elements as it usually ends in violation of human rights.
Mr Kumar said after a separate Jharkhand state was carved out from Bihar, the police training centre remained with Jharkhand creating difficulties in imparting training to police personnel in the state, he said and added the Bihar government was taking every step to develop a full fledged training centre at Nathnagar to meet the requirement.
He said there was no paucity of fund to a set up a well equipped police training centre at Nathnagar which would come up soon.
