Patna, Sep 19 (UNI) The JD(U) today alleged that Railway Minister Lalu Prasad was treating the flood victims as ''prospective voters of the RJD'' and distributing cash among them without disclosing its source.
National spokesman of the party Shivanand Tiwari told reporters here that Mr Prasad was trying to delive political mileage from the condition of the flood victims which reflected his insensitivity towards their sufferings.
''Reports say that Mr Prasad has distributed crores of rupees among the flood victims to allure them keeping the forthcoming Lok Sabha election in mind,'' he said and added that the Railway Minister should also disclose the sources of the fund he was spending among the flood victims.
Mr Tiwari wondered whether the amount distributed by Mr Prasad among the flood victims was from the fund raised by Railway employees and if it was true, his action was not in decorum with a post of a cabinet minister at the Centre.
''The fund generated by the Railway employees for flood victims should be spent as per established norms and not at the whims of the Railway Minister to extract the political mileage,'' Mr Tiwari maintained.
