Chandigarh, Sep 19 (UNI) The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) has decided to set up air-conditioned Agro Malls with basement for the sale of agro products, food products and other allied products at various places in the state on the pattern of international supermarkets.
Two such Agro Malls have already been launched at Panchkula and Karnal, Agriculture Minister H S Chatha said today.
The Board had also approved an Agro Mall at Gurgaon to be set up over an area of approximately 4.7 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 44.85 crore.
He said the Agro Mall at Gurgaon would soon be launched for booking and the mode of allotment for shopping mall would be through invitation of applications.
The Mall would have five storeys with provision for basement and semi basement.
Mr Chatha said the area of all the floors would be utilised for providing shops, offices, stores etc especially for fruits, vegetables and other allied products and could be allotted to one single company for providing all kinds of agricultural, horticultural and food items of international standards.
The construction work of this proposed mall would be started shortly, he added.
The benefits of the agro mall, he said, would be manifold as it would provide quality shopping experience to the consumers to purchase all kinds of horticulture and food products in most hygienic environment with product range having international specifications.
