Election Commission to make new IDs in Tribal districts

Shimla, Sep 19 (UNI) Election Commission has directed the authorities concerned to issue new Election Identity Cards in tribal districts of Himachal Pradesh here today.

A Spokesman of the Election Department said here today that the process of taking photos would commence from September 20 for issuing photo identity cards to voters of assembly constituencies of Chamba, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur districts.

He said that as per the programme, photography of voters of Bharmour assembly constituency would be conducted from 20th September to 7th October, Lahaul&Spiti assembly constituency from 20th to 27th September, Manali assembly constituency from 20th to 29th September, Kullu assembly constituency from 20th to 28th September, Banjar assembly constituency from 2nd to 11th October, Anni assembly constituency from 3rd to 11th October and in Kinnaur assembly constituency from 20th to 30th September, 2008.

The Spokesman said that the voters could contact the District Election Offices and ADM Offices concerned for further information in this regard.
