Delhi encounter: Sharma succumbs to injuries
New Delhi, Sep 19: Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma who led Delhi Police Special Cell team in Jamia Nagar encounter succumbs to his injuries. He was shot in the abdomen in the encounter. Sharma decorated with seven gallantry awards.
On Friday, Sep 19, an encounter took place between Special cell of 150 Delhi Police and suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists, in a 4 storey building in Jamia Nagar of East Delhi. Two terrorists were shot dead in the encounter. One of the dead has been identified as Atiq alias Basheer and is said to be an associate of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activist Tauqir. The terrorists are in the age group of twenty. Tauqir Qureshi the alleged mastermind behind Delhi blasts was also in the same building of L-18, Bathla House, near Khaleela Mosque earlier, where the terrorists holed-up.
